Yenko Camaro 427 by baw Yenko Camaro 427 by baw
Who doesn't love American muscle?

I used a lot of gradients in this vector, I wanted to try something new and I'm happy with the end product, though I think I'll cut back in future vectors. I spent a lot of time on the wheels and tires. I made the tires in photoshop, and imported them into Flash. I wanted to add depth and texture to them to make them stand out against the black background. I like how it turned out. Besides the tires, everything else was vectored using Flash. Sized 1024x768 for your wallpaper convenience.

About the car: For those who don't know, Yenko was legendary for their tuning on both the Camaro and the Nova. This Camaro sports a 427ci engine putting out about 450 hp. This is the epitimy of the American muscle cars of the late 60's and 70's. Retro-rific.

Very nice work. One of my personal favorite cars is the Porsche Carrera GT which is one of the most beautiful cars ever built. This car also inspired me for a painting in Adobe Illustrator (2-D, using no mesh/no grid for gradients) from another interesting angle. See here: exotic-legends.deviantart.com/…

Retro-rific indeed. Nothing was the same after the muscle car era was gone.

i'm affraid i'm going to have to put this in my favs ... great find on the source given the angle .... great vector work. if i was going to be picky and you cared what i think, i'd talk about those bumper guards/support, smoothness of the stripe and what i think is the little rear quarter window or whatever they called those. it comes down into the body or appears to. in Illustrator i'd grab all that upper portion of the car and send to the back ... done. real nice anyway.
